“It is one’s values – and what we are able to give back to society – that shape and define us as individuals.”
Peter Buffett presented “A Concert & Conversation” to an audience of 300 on September 26. The guests enjoyed Peter’s perspective in a live musical setting where he used his own life story and experiences as illustration. The evening provided an opportunity for business, community and young leaders to consider how to best build communities that come together around their most challenging issues.
Hosted by United Way of Central New Mexico, the concert is part of his tour of 20+ United Way communities across the country. As part of his visit, Buffett learned about UWCNM’s Mission: Graduate and Mission: Families initiatives by taking a tour of the International District, visiting with students at Highland High School and taking part in a discussion with UWCNM Vision Council volunteers.
Buffett, who like his father is a philanthropist, runs the NoVo Foundation in partnership with his wife, Jennifer Buffett. The mission statement of NoVo is to foster a transformation from a world of domination and exploitation to one of collaboration and partnership. He is an Emmy award wining musician and author of “Life Is What You Make It.
