Rebecca comes to Mission: Graduate with an extensive education policy background. She was the state of New Mexico Higher Education Department’s first P-20 Analyst, was a Senate Education Committee Analyst for four years, and worked as a Quality Control Reviewer for the Legislative Education Study Committee the previous two legislative sessions. While at the Higher Education Department, she co-wrote the state’s first GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) grant and secured participation from 33 middle schools statewide.
She has worked as a classroom teacher and for internationally focused nonprofits. Rebecca has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Pomona College, a Master’s in International Development from the Nelson Mandela Metropole University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University.
Rebecca’s other interests include travel, hiking, biking, reading, yoga and exploring with her five year old son.
